The uniquely simple design of the vanguard combines a foot operated air bulb and a remotely located bellows to actuate an electric snap switch. The basic components are an air bulb, connecting tubing with brass fittings, bellows and a basic snap switch. The bulb can be up to 30 feet away, thereby isolating the electrically live switch.
